No Channel Editor for Ultra - Bummer

Not having an offline channel editor for the Ultra sucks, big time. I understand that there was one listed on the fortecstar site but was removed about two weeks ago because it caused problems in the Ultra. Also understand that it would be replaced with a fix. I bought the Ultra for Blind Search and AC-3, something my trusty DMT-1000 did not have. But something that the DMT does have available is an easy to use editor. D/L'd a program called DMTEdit which made it even easier. I can use my old laptop with Windows 95 even. The Ultra works ok but is a pain to work with and organize channels. In a way I am sorry that I bought it. A friend bought the Pansat 2500, which also has Blind Search and AC-3. Loves it. The channel editor gTools works fine with it. I guess I don't understand why it works with the 2500, but not with the Ultra. They are basically the same receiver. Based on my feelings to date, I would not recommend the Ultra to any serious hobbiest. Perhaps I will feel different if and when Fortec, or anyone else, comes up with a working editor. Until then, I blind search with the Ultra and load the freq's found into the DMT-1000, which, by the way, is a great little receiver.
Sorry, just venting.

I feel your pain! Up to about 120 channels now and wish there was
a better way. I dont want to create a cheat sheet so I find a channel of
interest.

You should be able to download the receivers channel tables to a PC and
edit. Then reload channel list back into the receiver. Will save alot of time.
