lifetime ultra

I need help!!! would like to know if lifetime ultra is ready to receive fta
chanels rite out of the box or do i have to down load software.
can not get quality have tried to locate satelites useing small dish.

The Ultra is ready to receive new out of the box. But, the setup information you provide to the receiver is criticle.
If any bit of info is incorrect it wont find any channels or quality signal.

Couple things to consider.

Active transponder on desired sat. Make sure the correct frequency,
polarity, and symbol rate are in the satellites transponder table.
In the antenna setup menu, make sure to select the correct lnb, local oscillator frequency, and active transponder.

If you want FTA, you MUST have big (>30") dish.
The signals on the Ku band sats are weak and the small dish won't cut it.

thank you very much for responding
do i need a larger dish or should i be able
to receive sat. signals with small D.TV. dish.
