Does blind search satellite also work manually??

:? I read about all these different satellites, and then I ran into the blind search satellite receivers and it says that i dont have to search for sats, the receiver will do it for me. Okay thats cool..but i also hear that i can miss certain channels. Well my question is ...can I switch the blind search satellite receiver into manual so I can searh for sats manually??
Also can I get FTA channels from different states if i live in US??
...and i dont mean news or religion channels i mean like local channels from different cities in US. (according to lyngsat site)

I think you may have usals and blind search confused. Usals will find the satellites for you provided your dish is aligned with the Clarke arc. The blind search feature will then search those satellites for channels. If you don't have a Usals compatible motor then you can search for satellites with diseqc1.2

I am new to this so go EASY on me. What do you need to do if you want to get all dishnet channels and pick a bunch of LOCAL CHANNELS from all areas of the usa ESPECIALLY CBS and FOX.
What kind of set up will u need like satellites and setup as far as dish pointing if u live in north east USA (NYC AREA). Thanx alot for the help.

DishNetwork are encrypted, which you can't watch them using FTA DVB receiver. FYI, we don't discuss illegal activities here.
