This is "driving" me nuts (Ultra)

Out of desperation, can any Lifetime or Lifetime Ultra users with SG2100 help me out here.

Here is what happens (and it happens regerdless if I use 1.2 or USALS). I go to antenna setup select a satellite, and set it all up (I get a very strong level and quality). I go to blind search, it scans everything great (it found 15 active frequencies on AMC3). Once the search completes, it goes to scan those frequencies and get the channels. This is where it goofs up. It starts scanning and finds channels and then all of sudden it moves the dish. I can't figure out why, and of course as a result of this it can't find the rest of the channels.

The worst thing is that sometimes it works fine and other times it moves the dish for no reason.

Am I doing something wrong? Is the receiver doing something wrong?

Please help.

My ultra won't be delivered till next week so I'm only guessing here. I read another post on this forum saying the ultra had problems scanning amc3 because of the hd channel there. Does the problem happen on every satellite or just amc3?

It doesn't have a problem scanning AMC3, but it has problems with HD signals. When you try to tune to an HD chanel, the box locks up. Well in my case I was still able to see other channels, but I lost all on screen graphics untili I powered off/on the box. Its an issue, but not a huge one in my opinion since there are only few HD hannels out there.

Hi

The PBS HD channel are on 2 transponders on AMC3 satellite.

12072 & 12128 (see http://www.lyngsat.com/amc3.shtml)

After you scan the satellite, go to the Channel Edit menu and delete those HD channels. That way, when you change channels, you will not pass an HD channel that will freeze your receiver. If the receiver freezes, just turn OFF then ON using the power switch. Maybe a firmware upgrade on the future will illiminate this issue.
