I will post a review later (too busy playing with it now), but just wanted to say that it was able to find SR of 1446 using blind search.

I have few questions/comments. I have sg2100. I am able to lock in on satellites, but when I use usals it either takes it exactly where the satelite is or it moves totally off (and this is on attampts to move the dish to the sam satellite - so sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt)? MAybe I just need to play around with it a little bit more and figure it out.

One wierd thing, I moved it to SBS6 using usals and it locked in great (with 75% quality). I did blind search and once it finished blind search, when it goes to scan the frequencies that blind search found, the dish starts moving for no reason!?! Due to this it dodn't lock in on channels of course. It didn't move it a little bit, it moved 5+ degrees west by it self.

I hope I am doing something wrong If not I'll stick to 1.2 and hope that does the trick.

On the blind search. I scanned t5, amc3 and sbs6. T5 had no problem, it found everything in about 8-10 minutes. AMC 3 went ok too, but it did lock up on me when I tried to tune in to PBS HD. SBS6 took 17 minutes to search, it found 9 active frequencies.

All in all. I am satisfied. I need to play with it more and get used to it. Blind search looks nice. It has two long horizontal lines on the bottom and a little window where it writes out the results in top left. When you are searching, it is going in increments of 8 Mhz, and it indicates it by IF frequency. Once it finds frequency/SR it show it in the window. Also, it will put a little square (whose size is determined by it's SR) above the line where it found it.

So once I figure out all the little things (usals) the only complaint will be one gramatical error It says ... transpnders founded instead of "found".

That's it from me. If Sadoun or anybody else (I am guessing that even old lifetime users can help) can help me with few issues I had, I will greately appreciate it.

Thanks,

V

I guess I am turning this into my Ultra review thread

A day later things couldn't be better. Thanks to this receiver I have expanded my arc all the way to Hispasat!! My dish was just barely of the arc before (I was able to get to PAS9). It took about 10 minutes to realign my dish and now I am getting 75% signal strength and about 60% quality on Hispasat on a 31" dish from Chicago suburbs.

One thing I did that might have solved my problem with the receiver moving the dish for no reason (and I know that I will jinx my self here) I deleted the satellite from the pre-existing list and added a new one for the same location.

Blind search is working pretty good. When I added a new satellite, I just added one transponder so that I could check the signal and let the blind search do the rest.

If you have an universal LNBF (and assuming you want to scan both polarities), blind search is done once in this order:
1. Horizontal polarity LOF: 9750 (IF: 950-2150)
2. Vertical polarity LOF: 9750 (IF: 950-2150)
3. Horizontal polarity LOF: 10600 (IF: 950-2150)
4. Vertical polarity LOF: 10600 (IF: 950-2150)

That's it from me I will surrender this thread now

Lifetime Ultra

Well, so far, so good. I slaved this little gem to a 7.5' Mesh and have just been chasing C Band signals so far. I have over 120 channels and I haven't even got to the end of the arc yet, not to mention Ku band! I did have one gripe, the IR sensor location in the box. It was just to far away from the front and obscured by the opaque plastic of the cover. I opened it up (kids don't try this at home) and removed the sensor. I then extended it's pins with solid core insulated wire and repositioned it dead smack on the tinted glass area of the front faceplate. I can now be across the room, standing on the ceiling or crawling on the floor and the remote works flawlessly! Haven't tried the blind search feature yet, not a very patient person, but I will use it soon!

Great reviews keep them coming.

I got the chance to try the ULTRA receiver and I am very pleased with it so far. Since we have been busy shipping your receivers/systems out, I didn't get the chance to do an indepth review. However, from the small time I spent with this receiver, I can tell you it is much better than any BLIND SEARCH receiver to date.

For the C-Band dish users, you are going to love the features and performance of this receiver as a slave to your existing 4dtv/analog setup. It will scan Vertical, Horizontal, or both polarities at the same time.

The receiver comes pre-loaded with known active transponders on most of North American satellites. The Power Scan (BLIND SEARCH) will even dig deeper for any transponders that are not already listed in the receiver. Any new transponders and channels will be added on top of whatever transponders/channels already stored.

Doing a "New" Power SCAN will not erase or miss up whatever channels you have found before.

The Signal Level and Quality meters are very responsive.

I will keep you posted with more reviews.. But over all so far a Thumbs UP.

Is that your son Sadoun?
I am still in the old days with my Fortec Star 786 V2 ops: but it works perfect and is very compact.

The 786 receivers are some of the best and easiest FTA receivers you can have. Very flexible and loaded with features.

Start a new review thread about this model, Tanjiabdou.

I have the pal European version and works great with the SG2100 and a clear viwe of all the satellites on my arc. But soon I'll change the old stuff by new equipements including my old Maganvox TV
Iwonder how many have the same model as me with the European plug?

1 cool thing is the 24 hour clock right in front and easy to see. From playing with the menus it seem very straght forward. More to follow...

What's the best way to handle all these channels. If you delete the ones you don't want when you scan the satellite again they will just add back in.
Should you leave everything in and put the channels you want in the favorite lists?

Does this receiver have polarotor connections in the back? The Lifetime I have does not (pre Ultra) and I have to manually change polarity via my BUD receiver. Will the Ultra eliminate the need for me to do this?

No you still need your BUD receiver to change polarity.

There is an adapter which will allow the ULTRA to control a polarotor.

Can you please post more info on this adapter. This would make it perfect.
Where would it get power from the receiver with no 12 volt port?
