Fortec 786 - no channels

I have a Fortec 786 and I suddenly can't get any channels. It doesn't find satellites and keep returning to the TV setup screen. My husband unplugged it for ~30 seconds, but that didnt help. I'm not getting a green signal indicator on any satellite. WHere do I start? (I'm assuming that DH checked all the connections, but I was gone for the weekend, so I guess I don't know that for sure.

Thanks,

Serena

Is the cable from the dish connected to the LNB input and not the ANT input? Have there been any wiring changes made? Check the dish to make sure it is still aligned properly; perhaps a gust of wind shifted it off alignment. Any trees starting to grow into the way and block signal? Is the power to the LNB turned to "ON"?

Wet snow or sleet on the dish can make channels disappear. Just an eigth of an inch of wet snow on my dish can reduce the signal level to where there is no green. It's not as critical on my C-band dish and my 18 inch directv dish.

My husband did check the connections, but we'll check again. I know it's not the dish, because I checked to be sure that we were getting optimal signals with the 4dtv. I'm not having any problems with the 4dtv - just the FTA. I can try the master reset. I assume that the manual tells how to do that.?

Thanks,

Serena
