Wait for Picture???

Hi, I am very new to FTA, but I purchased a Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra, and a friend set it up for me at his house because he already has a different kind of FTA. Anyway, he said that it worked fine and sent it back to me. That was about 3 months ago, now I am just getting around to hooking it up. My Level meter runs about 85%, and my Quailty jumps between 65% and 85% (don't know why) but when I hook the FTA to my tv and do a blind scan, I can see that the receiver picks up like 32 TP, and when I use the EPG, I can see what is currently on all of these channels, but I can't hear or see anything??? the only thing I get is a "Wait for Picture" meter that I have let go up to like 16.500% and still no picture...Any help on what is going on here? Do I have something hooked up wrong??? I can see all of the menus and meters, but I just can't see any channels??? Thx!!!

You bought receiver with some pirate software. Flash your receiver with factory software from Fortec website, and you won't "wait for picture".

Agreed. You have a receiver with illegal software installed. Your only solution is to replace the software with factory software.
