Help with fortec star
Hi I just bought the coolsat 6000 but I also have dish net...
and I was wondering if I going to be able to watch dish if I connect it to the antenna 240CM C/Ku Prime Focus Dish Antenna FORTEC STAR FS08..
because I wanted to buy one from here, but I want to know if I going to be able to watch the dish net...
And I also wanted to know if there is a lnb that is Ku and C band universal because the Invacom QPH-031 is not ku band universal, wich lnb do you recomend to use...
or if there is a lnb holder that I can use to put two lnbs for this antenna
thanx..

It would be easiest to just leave your DN setup alone and setup the larger dish for FTA. You can connect the DN erceiver to the large dish with a circular lnbf but as you posted the lnbf available is standard and not universal. The other problem that comes to mind is you will need to motorize the dish to view multiple sats properly. Move off a Dn sat and no more DN until you move back. In other words you will be severly limiting your viewing capability.

you can get what you want by using the BSC 621-2 lnbf and a scalar ring with built in circular lnbf.

Could but it is a choice. Can not do both at the same time. Requires removing the plate inside to get linear and replacing to get circular.

no, the circular lnb is built into the scalar ring it is a seperate lnb from the BSC. so you wouldn't have to change the plates in the BSC to get circular.

I agree with the other responses, but I'm a little unclear with respect to what you're really trying to do. Ie if you already have dishnet working, it really doesn't do much good to get a new system that would take away capability. Ie you wouldn't be able to watch dishnet while surfing with the Fortec dish. Also, you'd pretty much have to run a second cable to your dishnet receiver even if you were able to use the Fortec dish for Dishnet, so it really doesn't add any benefits other than less rain fade. So I agree with Steve, that I'd recommend leaving your current Dishnet system separate.
THe next thing is that you say that " Invacom QPH-031 is not ku band universal". So I'm wondering why you want a universal Ku lnb? Basically, if you want to tune sats over the Atlantic that do the low Ku band, then you want universal, whereas if you want compatability with analog receivers like a 4DTV, then you want a standard Ku lnbf. Just wanted to make sure you knew why you wanted universal Ku.
The next thing is that you say that you want "C band universal", and I'm not aware of any lnbf sold in the US that is C band universal. So why do you want C band universal? Again, there are some sats that could benefit from such an lnbf, but not many. So I wasn't sure if you really meant that.
Basically, if you don't need the low Ku band, the QPH-031 is a nice lnbf that does standard linear and circular Ku, but not C-band, and if you don't need circular Ku, then one of the BSC LNBFs will do C-band and either standard or universal Ku.
So my question is, just why is it that you want the above combination of capability. I really get the impression that you're looking for something you may not need.

Well this must be something totally new because I have a BSC lnbf and it requires the plate to use as circular. I am using it as a circular lnbf. If it is built into the scalar ring how would it ever do linear?

you are misunderstanding me Steve it,s 2 seperate LNB,s the bsc handles the linear side and the lnb in the scalar ring handles the circular ku side you would still need to use the plate on the bsc to get c band circular.
