The problem is that you can't set up a "satellite" as both C and Ku in these Fortec receivers. For satellites that have both bands, you need to define a second satellite. For example, I have an AMC3-C satellite AND and AMC3-Ku satellite defined, one with the 5150 LO freq and the other with the 10750 LO freq. This is a bit of an annoyance to have to switch satellites when really staying on the same satellite, but it's not too bad. The problem I had with my first Fortec (Lifetime) was that I ran out of memory. Ie the receiver had a limit to the number of satellites you could define, so I couldn't define all the sats I could see, so I had a generic sat defined that I could use for a couple sats. However the Ultra and the
Mercury have more memory, so that doesn't seem to be a problem on the newer receivers.
But the secret is that you have to rename/create new satellites to get both C and Ku.
