5200 PVR software issues

Hello,

I have the Fortec Star 5200PVR. I have been able to view plenty of content on it, and I am happy with the features is general. However, I am having one heck of a time trying to get the software that you can download for the receiver from fortecstar.com to do anything useful. I am using the following software:

Uploader - Version 2.12 ( February 25, 2003)
If you have not previously downloaded the Uploader Software, you will need to do so. The Uploader is needed for transferring software from your PC to your receiver.

Firmware v.2.37 ( September 22, 2003)
Master Reset your receiver before & after uploading the file.
(For PAL systems.)

The uploader program is poorly written and seems to be lacking a lot of functionality. I am able to go through the steps of "upload" new software and watching the progress bar move on both the screen of the computer and the television screen, but nothing happens when it is all done. I have tried reseting the receiver, but that just loses all my data entry and I have no way to save what I currently have. The receiver says it is satcodx compliant, but I for the life of me cannot get it to work.

I have resorted to fat fingering in each transponder I want to watch, which is a real hassle I should mention. There must be an easier way to use this thing, this is painful.

I also have a Fortec Star Lifetime and I am very pleased with how that receiver works in regards to programming with the computer, but why is the 5200PVR giving me such a hard time?

Any advice short of giving up is much appreciated.
