dzenizo is on a distinguished road
What can I expect if I install a receiver?

I've been browsing the information on DVB and it's overwhelming!

The information posted by Sadoun Satellite IS THE BEST I've seen!

Still, it's not clear to me what channels will I be able to see in Monterrey, Mexico (25° 40' N 100° 18' W), very near Laredo, Texas.

I have seen the beam footprints, channel listings, etc, but still don't understand it. :?:

Also, I know there's no guarantee about Free Channels availability, but what has been users experience on this subject?

Thnaks, and I cannot wait to start experimenting with DVB! :?:

THANK YOU!

See http://sadoun.com/Sat/Products/Acces.../Dish-Size.htm for the minimum dish size for your area. Compare the footprints to the table.

Most FTA channels are foreign stations sponsored by their respective countries and remain free for a long time. Some opt to scramble their signal to generate revenues. Many go in and out of scrambling when the channels find out that it costs more to scramble than to broadcast FTA. Specially when they don't get the expected number of subscribers to justify the cost. So they decide to go FTA again and generate money from advertising or systems sales.
