many other receivers , but you can't get them in the USA. Most of receivers are sold in Europe , North Africa or the Middle East.

Yes, it's more expensive than the Fortec line, but it does have some interesting function such as "search by freq", "smart eyes Lnbf"...
I don't have it so I can confirm how good/useful these function are.
If one has a good PC, take advange of it by using a DVB PCI card and a hardware decoder. You will get all the feeds you want (AC3, 4:2:0, HD, 4:2:2 in softmode)

BTW The PANSAT 330A and the FORTEC STAR LifeTime receivers come from the same factory and assembly line.

The latest LifeTime F/W upgrade (V 2.19 from www.fortecstar.com) makes it super sensitive to signals and the quality/signal level bars are very smooth.

Here is what TUNDARUM wrote about the LifeTime on satforums.com

I took today off from work to finish the review. I can tell you now that I prefer the Lifetime receiver over the ST-9900 because I can receive marginal signals far better with the Lifetime receiver than with the ST-9900. This comparison was done using the exact same equipment...all I did was swap out receivers. I don't care that the ST-9900 has a slight advantage with signal searching...it doesn't matter when you can't reliably receive the signal anyway compared to the Lifetime receiver. I informed Pete (Smallear) of this problem months ago and nothing has been done to correct it. Well, I better get back to finishing the review. Best regards.
