the struggle continues

i am still having loads of trouble getting all aligned right. i really only have 4 or 5 sats in now. but what i have is really good signal wise. im using usals and 1.2 mixed and had some success. my true south sat is sweet. never been better! still cant get others. when i start to get a signal rise it seems i have to increase or decrease elevation so much that it throughs off my perfectly aligned sats? and others i get no signal? could i be that far off on my initial calculations and then finding my true south sat? its an educated guess finding where you point the whole thing in the first step right?-meaning the whole assembly.-how far could i be off? i have done this over and over, starting from scratch multiple times. im pulling my hair out man. what else could i be doing wrong to consistently come up with this half-baked result? i get some and cant even find others. keep in mind these are sats i can get when i just go off the grid and point the whole thing at it. not to sure what to think about this madness!!!!!!!

it sounds like your mount is not plumb recheck your pole with dish mounted and see if it is off check in several positions with dish to make sure it is not flexing.

Angry the struggle continues!

this pole is plumb...all over. it makes me want to give up. how is it possible to be only half correct? to have some and not all viewable sats? another question i have is, on the motor elevation, the latitude side, where is the ref point? is it the little pointy thing that points to the numbers? if anyone has a close up pic of what indicates motor elev. that would be great! but i think i have that correct. i tried only using up and down as suggested but to no avail. hell, i had more sat in in an earlier attempt.---- and about the pointing the whole mount in the beginning how accurate does that have to be? ---i will not give up! no matter how frustrated i feel at this point. thanks to all for the great effort put forth for me.----steve

Reading on lat scale should be about 0.6 + your latitude. Reading on elevation scale should be 90-this amount.

I am also new at this but one thing I was having problems with no signal
on some of my sats and yet others where great ,I would get some on the
west and east side , I happen to be looking at transporters on the sat that had nothing on them so my signal was not there, I believe Webjones
helped me out by suggesting I have a good transporter , the default one
what ever happens to be on a given sat may or may not give you signal
strength.
Regards
Not sure if you try this already
