You will not be able to get signal from these satellites at your location. The satellites are aimd to the other side of the earth.

Viewing NSS 806 at 40.5 deg West ?

Thanks for all the input....

The thing that confuses me, is that one would think it should be viewable. Here are photos of the footprint coverage maps of this satellite.

I was hoping to beable to view Bolivan Tv from Missouri. But I guess if it were viewable it would take a rather large dish aimed in the low Eastern Horizon ?

Does anyone know of a good computer program to use that would allow me to input the data, and find the exact dish aiming coordinances ?

Yes; use "Satracker" on lyngsat; simply go the the page for NSS806 and click on Satracker; then click the pointer over your geographic location; the coordinates will be calculated by the program.

Sorry I didn't investigate this throuroghly.

There is an Israeli satellite called AMOS. I assumed you were interested in that.

The Bolivian satellite NSS-806 is a C-Band satellite and you should be able to capture the signal with an 1.8m prime focus dish (based on the EIRP dBW footprint).

Thanks guys for all the help....

I'm running a 9 ft dish I hope to find that Sat yet !!! My feedback pulsator is out of whack, so I have been manually steering the dish. I need to get it fixed ( I know ! ) haha

One additional question that perhaps someone could answer ?

Does anyone know of a satellite chart that displays all of the FTA sats and shows their location in the clark belt in relation next to each other ?

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I use a conventional C band receiver and known non- digital transmissions to double check my dish aming. All the charts I can find show AMC 9 / K9 as the East most Satellite and W-7 / C1 as the West most satellite. And the charts usually show 19 additional satellites inbetween the two above satellites ( in the C / Ku band )

But I know better because I can watch my inline signal meter peak on seperate signals inbetween some of these satellites and further west and East then the usual charts show !

My Sat Receiver has alot of built in pre-programed Satellites, but I don't know where they are in refference to the convential satellite charts.

So I was hoping to find a satellite chart, that would show not only the conventional C / KU band Sats, but also the other sat's that are mpeg-2.

Am I asking too much ? I have done alot of looking on the net and haven't found anything like that yet !

I guess I could make a chart myself... But just looks like someone should have one ready to go.

Those satellite TV guide magazines used to have a chart at the beginning of the book; it showed all the birds and their location on the belt from east to west. I forget the name of it -- it was for C-Band programs but it showed all satellites. Check out your local magazine stores or even 7-11.

kat

Also check out this website; it shows all the satellites worldwide:
