In need of help....again

Hello guys I'm trying to setup 2 motorized dish systems @ two differant locations. Both have similar equipment and I am getting same results (notta)

system 1---Fortec 90cm with wall mount,satcontrol SM3D22,std lnb ran to #1 motor port;other port terminated w/cap,Neusat SP6000 (sorry sadoun)
(coords 92.7W 36.8N) settings;178 deg. southernmost "0"-IA(Tel)6 @93w-motor angle 37,dish angle 40

system 2---Fortec 90cm wall mnt,HH90,Ivacom 031 L/C through 2x1 diplexer other two ports terminated w/caps,Neusat SP6000(sorry again sadoun)
(coords 92.4W 36.5N) settings;175 deg. southernmost "0",-IA(Tel)6 @93w-
motor angle 37,dish angle 40
(I tried Usals go to IA6 & rotated on mast also-No gain signal strength/qual.)
@ both sites I get 27-28 constant receiver signal-whether hooked up or not.
I move dishes on masts-no changes (are plumb) using tp11876 V sr3516.
My hair is turning greyer very fast--any advice? Thanks guys

try going up or down on dish elevation the 90 cm dish scale can be off by 5 degrees. had to set mine 5 degrees lower than recommended.

Try raising the dish elevation a degree at a time. Rainman had to lower his 5 degrees. I had a 80cm that had to be raised 5 degrees. The initial settings are a starting point. Also move slow.

Many thanks to helpfull people here!

Thank you guys

I moved the dish elev. down 5 degrees (Bingo);I got a signal quickly on my southernmost satallite (IA6 @ 93W)-I used USALS 1st to move dish to IA6-lowered from 40deg.elev. to approx. 35deg.. Then swept assembly (slowly) East to West (about 1/4" on mast)-Quality zoomed to 65-Happy Happy. Blind scanned-Got a few channels--fine tuned on that sat.(elevation & E/W small movemants)-Was about 40 degrees outside on truck tailgate with small tv &
my sat. receiver-It was well worth the effort to set this up-I had only 5 tv channels before this installation (off air ant.). I scanned other satellites;got more channels! I must be on clark belt ok. Got some free music off of a echostar (Is this normal?) Boy am I tired-stayed up til 2:30am playin.

BTW-The Invacom Quad 031 seems to work well with 2x1 Diplexer running
1-L 1-C to the HH90 motor (terminated other outputs). Would I gain anything switching the diplexer out with a DiSEqc switch?

Thanks again guys

Wiping sweat from brow, tears from eyes,Maybe even color some of that grey right outta my hair too--LOL

I will keep in touch-----------And thanks Sadoun for hosting this excellent forum of customer support & thanks to the guys who donate the time to help us new people out. 1 gratefull member here

Just out of curiosity, which of the two style dish mounts did you have for your 90CM dish, ie the pole mount
( http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Products/F...ishes/Brkt.JPG )
or the U-bolt style
( http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Products/F...hes/U-Bolt.JPG ) ?
I think so far, most people who have had the 5 degree problem have had the U-bolt dish mount. A couple theories for why this might be.

I have another question. If you look at the picture of the U-bolt mount I gave the link for, you'll see a little nub, just below and right of the upper bolt, and above and left the "C" of Copyright. I just ran outside, and took apart my dish to make sure, however between the two holes in the LNBF arm that the two bolts go through, there is a hole. I think that the nub on that U-bolt mount is supposed to snap into those holes. This will keep the LNBF centered, so it rotates around those nubs. If you don't make sure that the nubs are in the holes in the LNBF arm, the lnbf arm can get cocked, and the scales on it become meaningless. I think that you can tell if your nubs are in the holes by checking to see if the lnbf arm and the long washers that connect between the two bolts, is centered in the circle. The one in the picture is NOT centered. Ie I think you can just see the edge of the indentation which is the opposite side of the nub, at the edge of the long washer showing on the near side of the mount, which shows that the washer isn't going through the center, but is instead to the left of center. You can also see that the washer at the top is closer to the left edge of the hole than the washer at the bottom is to the edge of the right side of the bottom hole.
Anyway, that's one of my two theories for why that mount is off 5 degrees for some. The other is that I think it may have been designed for another dish.

RE:U bolt mount on FS 90cm

My 2 bolt elevation alignment thingy is in the indents in the lnbf arm
Is it maybe the weight of the Invacom LNBF on the arm? There is a long distance between the LNBF & the bracket bolts-maybe the arm sags from the weight just enough to cause 5 deg. deviation. I noticed Rainman and myself have the heavy Invacoms. If that is the problem-a solution would be a spacer @ bottom of dish (between dish & lnbf arm);a bolt/slant cut piece of pvc pipe. Just tying to help.
..
.. >=lnbf

the lnb is not the problem mine is off by 5 degrees even with the fortec lnbf i got. like Bill i think it's the universal bracket that comes with the u bolt mount.
