help with getting TGN(thai) on my ADTH 8600IR reciever

getting the dish pointed is tricky but once i do i can get some channels but not all. the only channel im not getting is TGN. how is that? can someone tell me what im looking at? when i go to "installation" then "manual searching" i see...Txn No....01(is that the transponder?) then Txn Name(im guessing transponder name?). when it saids D/L Freq, Symbol Rate, polarization, can those be change? it seems like when i try to change it and the recieve "save", it doesnt stay the same after i come back to it. also when im trying to peak the dish is it better to use the "installation" screen to read the signal or just go to a channel and after i press signal it shows me the signal strength? any help would be appreciated. thx

TGN is on Tp frequency 11966H. SR:22000. Auto scan should get you this channel. If not you might want to add the Transponder.

I have a LaoBC issued recvr similar to yours - up until 10 days ago I had no problem with TGN, now nothing. In fact, I lost "Russia Today" as well. Some sort of problem with interference. Its better to use the manual installation screen to read the signal as when you hit OK on the remote, it'll prompt you to save the setting. Go to Organize Networks and you'll see RRSat - thats where TGN is embedded. 11966/22000 should be indicated as well. Let me know if you ever get TGN, I'm in SoCal and no luck.

Its still there, we're watching LaoBC now. SatMeter - your lucky, as I have to carry a small TV and the recv up to the roof to adjust my dish.

Camarillo - be patient, I have lost the signal more than once. Try with a known working recv.

Yes sir your correct. I caught wind of this a few days ago. I will be installing a 90cm in a day or two and I'll see what happens.

Yeah me too! It was a good experience and now the initial and fine tuning now is much easier with the larger dish. The higher quality LNBF helped a bit too. I see a new recv in my future soon!
