Lost my sence of direction

My question is about true south for my location. Yesterday I had to take my dish down because of an incoming storm (Ernesto). I often wonder were my true south is. The last time I set up my dish I started at 81dg W as my true south and for must part it work fine for me however I had some issues with AMC 3, AMC 1 and SBS 6. The signal strength was never that great. So my location is Latitude 26.6 dg and Longitude 80.05 and the zip is 33460. Please tell me were do I look for my true south.

Thanks,

Jose

your true south is the same as your longitude. The closest satellite to your location is AMC5, which is at 79 degrees west

If you have USALS in your receiver, what you can do is make sure the motor is at 0. Enter your latitude/longitude and tell the motor to move to AMC5 before you install the dish. Then rotate the motor/dish assembly and lock on AMC5. You'll be tracking the arc in no time

I'm at 93.5W and found that if I did it that way (USALS) my signals are higher than aiming directly at IA6

Tracking the Arc

Firstable I would like to thank Iceberger for his inpunts. It was much easier to set up my system this time around. I have a situation with my reciever Fortec Platinum NA and the SG2100 motor. Peaking my dish becomes critical when attempting to lock in a weak signal. When I move the dish either East or West the motor never stop were is supposse to. The only way I can make a micro adjustment is by using the micro adjustment bottom on the motor. Any ideas or Am I at a dead end.

Thanks,

Jose
