Help can not lock telstar 5

I just bought a new fta system.I have the visionplus 1020 pci card, fortec universal lnb and the 32 inch dish.My zip is 72764 I have the folowing settings.elevation 48.1,azimuth 185.1,lnb tilt 4.1.When i aim for telstar 5 i have signal between 85 and 93 but I have signal quality of 0.No matter what i do I cannot get any signal quality it stays at zero.I also have dishnetwork and directv systems which I install myself so i'm I have had alot of pratice aiming at satellites but i cannot receive any signal quality with the dvb-s card.Do anyone have any suggestions?

I'm not familiar with that card but does it allow you to set up the LNB type? If so, you should set the L.O. frequency at 10,600 MHz for a universal LNB.

Also, pick an active transponder like 12,152 MHz on Telstar 5 when you are aiming the dish.

PS: make sure your polarization tilt is negative 4 -- so the tilt will be clockwise, although for 4 degrees it shouldn't be an issue.

bokat i have universal lnb selected in my settings i still cannot get a signal?

OK; but does it let you modify the L.O. frequency? Check to make sure it is set for 10,600 MHz.

Also, make sure the mast is perfectly level all ways -- if not it will throw off the elevation setting.

bobcat i put in 10,600 MHz still no luck.the mast is plumb.I have tried to get a lock on signal quality for 6 hours now but no luck.

I would do what bobkat suggests, also slightly losen the LNB ring and GENTLY twist the LNB in very small increments. With that level of signal strength it seems like your dish is alligned pretty good, so it's something small. Like the LNB freq on the card, or physical skew on the dish.
