Which receiver? Why

Just wanted to know why a person would pick a Pansat 2700A over a Traxis or even spend more money and get a Dream Box, etc. They all seem to have blind scan and DISQeC functions. Do you get what you pay for? Is it better to spend a little more than get a Traxis or clone? Thanks.

You're right they all pretty much do the basics, I"ve played with Fortecstar, Pansat, and Coolsat. Each has its own nice and not so nice things. I have 'nt had a fortecstar for a while but they look like a nice receiver, Sadoun sells several models on his site and they are as reasonably priced as anywhere....and he has been around a long time-in case there are problems.

starman is right they all got good things and not so good things i've got a satwork 3618 surper fast scans but won't move a positioner. also have a fortec ultra it controls positioner but not as fast on blind scans. it all depends on what you want it to do.

ya.. it should be pretty good machine...

Lots of nice FTA machines around...
