Dual LNB with Motor?

I probably pulled a boner when I purchased a system with a STAB HH-90 and a dual LNBF (and two receivers.) It seems apparent that only one receiver can run the motor anyway, since the HH-90 only has a single input and output. (To answer the nagging question--no, I didn't expect both receivers to watch programs on different satellites at the same time with the same dish.)

What do I do now? Do I put a terminator on one of the LNBF connectors, so I can connect a receiver to one of them? Is there any way to hook two receivers up so that each could run the system at different times, or each watch different channels on the same satellite?

did you try to hook both receivers up to the lnb (1 thru motor, 1 direct)?

I think Sadoun said in previous message that both receiver would control the motor. The motor doesnt care which receiver sends it signals, its a relatively stupid device and would move as told.

Try it, you might be surprised it actually works!

And to answer the 2nd part, you can with no problem hook the 2nd LNB direct to 2nd receiver. It will receive the signal the dish is pointing to.
If it does not move the motor with the trick above, just configure the 2nd receiver to have "no motor". That way it will think it's on a fixed, non movable dish and just receive whatever sat its pointing at. Obviously if that is the case you'll need a bit of manual coordination to set receiver 1 to the sat you want for receiver 2.

2 receivers, one motor

> did you try to hook both receivers up to the lnb (1 thru motor, 1 direct)?

Didn't actually try that...I believe I recall someone else saying the one plugged directly into the LNBF won't drive the motor. Also, I've been conservative about experimenting, not wanting to toast anything.

Maybe you mean plug one receiver into the other? Haven't tried that...bummer to have to cap off the 2nd LNBF port, but can't do much about it with the motor there.

Can't decide whether to return the second receiver or play with it, depending on whether something like the above works.
