right equipment

if i have a 18' direct tv dish what would be a good lnb to use to get fta channels ? is it true that it has to be linear? and is it true that you can use the lnbs from the dish 500 dish ?

won't work.

you need a 30" (or larger) dish and linear LNB for FTA.
