Strong signal & quality - no channels

I got very good signal and quality on amc4 yesterday but when I did the scan I only got 1 got channel.Apparently I didn't(for some reason) get all the transponders.
Same with my galaxy 10R-I have good signal/quality but don't get all transponders.I only got 1 radio station g10r and maybe 2 transponders.
Also--can we ger DVB programs? The listings on this sight have some listed as free and other encrypted with other types but I figured if I have a DVB I should get these channels.I yi yi.......LOL Thank

what reciever are you using?
be sure not to confuse a 'satellite scan' with a 'blind search' or 'smart search'.

The typical satellite scan will only scan the xponders that are stored in memory. it will not add new ones.

DVB without encryption is FTA. note that some formats like 4:2:2 are not decodable on many boxes.

check your connection make cure that u dont not have any of thr metal braid on the center conductor of the cable sum time that will short the line out or give you one 1 set of transponders . also if you have a spliter on the line you wil get the same results just try a little minor trouble shooting what kind of meter are u using

No meter-I have a small b/w TV I take to the dish.
My search on this problem is pointing to a bad SMPS.bd
hell if I know what that is,but it's a known electrical failure in these type of recievers.Gio figure. These apparently have inherited problems they don't tell anybody about!!!!!
I'll stay on top of it and let you know. It's not that I'm not getting odds/evens.I'm not getting certain listed transpoders be them H /V

Apparently this is a power supply problem. The big problem is I bought this from Sadoum on ebay and they don't give you warrenty when you buy from ebay. They actually take the warrenty card out of the box so you don't even know where to get factory service.
Do you think there is something wrong with this picture...most diffenatly.I've put them on several scammer lists because I've been scammed.Thier auction never stated that the item was sold as is and that you will not get a warrenty card with your purchase.Service with them is impossible.
I'll be buying another brand that has quality service - not just show.I'll never buy a fortecstar again and I'm letting the manufacturer know the same.

Can you point us to where you found these search results? From my experience the problems you are indicating originate from low signal levels either at the dish or in the coax line. If your dish is slightly out of alignment it will lose certain weaker transponders, or in your case not find them at all. I find it puzzling that the power supply circuitry would cause this type of problem.

I don't think I've ever mailed in any warrenty cards with stuff I buy.
Anyway, I think I'd at least TRY to follow up with Fortec.
I've been sucessful getting defective part replaced.

Come to think of it.... most of the satellite receivers we sell don't even have warranty cards inside the box and they are all factory brand new units.

Fortec receivers don't even come with warranty cards. Before you jump to conclusions and put us on your scammers list, you will need to check your installation. We are not here to scam people. It doesn't make sense. Also, read our return policy which is clearly posted on our eBay offers. BTW, we haven't had a Lifetime ULTRA on eBay for over 2 months.

I have never heard about the bad SMPS.bd issue. WHAT IS THAT?

It seems that you have a misaligned dish or setup issue.

- i have two "connectors" on the ine from the lnb and motor back to the receiver... could this be having a major impact on my signal? i got the amc4 channels origianlly, but now i am not getting them as i did before... i guess i should break down an buy a decent cable... my set up makes that very difficult... it would even be too difficult to explain here. but what if i add an "in-line amplifier"? good idea?
