T5

I had everything working fine on my setup, and I received some 90+ FTA channels on T5 (Ia5 97.0). I lost power last week, and for whatever reason, my box lost all of its data. I had to re-initialize some things, and everything is now good to go. However, I am not getting all of my channels from T5 again. I checked my TPs with this list here:

Suggestions?

Thanks

So you did a blind search (power scan) on IA5 and you didn't get as many channels this time? How many channels are yu getting? Are you only getting one polarity (H or V) or you are getting both?

OK, I am barely getting any channels on most satellites.

Where else can I get updated TP codes w/ signal rates? Or does the signal rate really not matter, and I should use lyngsat instead?

Thanks

Lyngsat should be somewhat up to date with transponders on T5. I think your issue might be that your dish got moved or lost alignment in some way. Pick one transponder (one of the globecast ones for example), enter it manually and try to peak your dish until you get the signal again.

Once you get a a good signal quality, do u blind search (power scan) and it should get all the active transponders.

try turning off the receiver for a 1 minute or so and then turn it back on then proceed to do a rescan.

If that doesn't work delete your tp list except for the first one and do a powerscan.

Mine acts up like also sometimes just powering it down and powering up again works.

So I deleted all but one TP out of the lists, and did the power scan. T5 is great. G10, got about 6 channels, missed the other 30 I used to have. Of those 6, 2 had enough quality and signal to show a picture and provide audio. So I tried G13, then G10 again. Same issue.

Ideas?

Things are better.....but please help me understand something. I am still new at this.

I did a Powerscan on a satellite. I got all the transponders available from that bird. Now, I compare what is on my TP list in the receiver with that from lyngsat. If I go in and manually add the TPs that were not picked up during a power scan, I should in theory get those channels as well, right?

Example:

I got to lets just say AMC3.
http://www.lyngsat.com/amc3.html

Lets say I got the TPs from a power scan for all the PBS channels at the bottom of that site. If I manually add in the other TPs, shouldn't I receive of the channels, i.e. the Patient Channel, SuperCanal Caribe, etc?

Or if I am wrong, please explain this to me.

Thanks

SuperNewbie.

Unless you have a "big dish" (10 foot) C band, the transponders less than 10,000 (ie: 4050 etc/ supercanal caribibe) cant be received on 30" KU band dish.

I find that unless it has an "F" on the entry it pretty much will work, and if it doesn't, it can be "sometimes" you might get the channel.

so what about other channels?? I was using a vague example with SuperCaribe. On 123.0 right now, I get 4 channels. I used to get about 30.

I can't say whats on right now for G10R, I cant get that at my home setup because of tree blockage. When I have it on at my business location, 30 should be about right for G10R.

Maybe someone else can comment.

Some transponders don't operate 24x7. That might be a reason why you're not seeing all the stuff you expect at times (ie: Patient Channel)
