FTA receivers will not work for DirecTV. you will need a DirecTV receiver to subscribe to these channels. All South Asian (INDIAN) channels are by subscription only through dish Network or DirecTV. No FTA channels are available from India.

No discussion of how to Hack an encrypted signal is allowed here. Read the rule.

I did not want to hack or anything. I wanted to use a Dish & receiver to get FTA indian channels. I saw that Indian channels are FTA in this site! Let me know what I am missing?!

All of the FTA Indian channels you see here: http://www.lyngsat.com/freetv/India.html are not available in North America except for Sanskar TV which is available on IA5.

Indian channels in NA are available by subscription only and are availabel through DISH NEtwork. See http://888dish.com/programming.jsp
