linear lnb for circular polarity with an over size dish ?

is it possible that using a linear ku lnb to get the circlar signal ? I am with a 76cm dish, the nasa TV on Echo9 is a L, but I know Echo 9 should be very strong, 76cm shoud be much bigger than required,

is that the circular and linear V/H only has a 3db seperation ?
