Problem with 2 different receivers and 2 Satellite dishes

I set up 2 dishes to receive FTA satellite signals (one pointing to Galexy13 and one pointing to Telster 5).

Both dishes use the same low-noise LNBFs (LO : 9.750 & 10.600 GHz).

At the output of each LNBF, I attached an RCA D800 Splitter with two
DC passes. Each slitter has two outputs.

Then two DMS-Internatinal-DiSEqC 4*1 Switches were used to connect the
output signals from the slitters to two different Ditital Satellite Receivers. [In fact, I don't really need two 4*1 switches; I could use two 2*1 switches.]

Receiver #1: COSHIP2000
Receiver #2: VIACAST QUANTUM MSR model 1500

I then programed the receivers by turning the Diseqc option on, LNB1 for the G13 satellite and LNB2 for the T5 satellie.

Results: This setup did not work. I could only make it work one receiver at a time (disconnecting the other receiver off).
I don't know what I did wrong. I am guessing that these two receivers send two different DC values out and confuss the LNBS. Could this be the problem? Is there anyway to work around?

I appreciate any helps that you could provide in advance.

Re: Problem with 2 different receivers and 2 Satellite dishe

Remove everything now, or you might get the lnbfs damaged for good.
You can't now use regular splitter to split the satellite signal. With your current setup, the lnbfs will receive 2 power from both receivers, that will cause the lnbf damaged.
Upgrade your single lnbfs to dual ones.

Re: Problem with 2 different receivers and 2 Satellite dishe

What is the normal correct setup for 2 dishes and 2 receivers?

As I already suggested, upgrade your lnbfs to dual, then use Diseqc 2 ways for each receiver.

Re: Problem with 2 different receivers and 2 Satellite dishe

I see. The only solution is to build 2 separate (totally independent) dish/receiver systems, wihout any links between them. In my case, those 2 satellites are about 45 degrees apart from each other. Putting 2 LBNs on each dish may not work for me.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Problem with 2 different receivers and 2 Satellite dishe

I went down to a local RadioShack store and asked for their advice, and they told me that a Multiswitch could solve my multi-dish/multi-receiver problem.
Are they right?

As usual, RS has no clue what you are talking for sure.
As I already suggested, upgrade your lnbfs to dual. RS stores don't sale Diseqc switches. Unless you can find a local DVB FTA stores, you will have to buy the ku lnbfs and Diseqc switches online.

you wouldnt be putting two lnbs on each dish, a dual lnb is a single lnb with two outputs, the lnbs have to be dual so that you can connect them into a diseqc switch.

OK, I finally got it. "Dual LNB" is one LNB with two outputs, instead of two LNBs. A regular LNB with a slitter does not function as a Dual LNB. That makes sense now. Thank you very much.
