Adding Channels

I am newbie to DVB, I have a Fortec Lifetime Ultra salved to a 4DTV 920 with a 10' mesh dish the question I have is when I search for FTA Channels do I have to be on a particualr tp that has programming on it according to Lyngsat. I have the LNB into the Fortec and out to the 4DTV which does work but I can not seem to get a lot of channels on the Fortec. :?
