Have you gone to the Fortec website?![]()
Hi all,
I have checked previous threads but have not found an answer, so I post this: I found that the "Delete Satellite" option on my Fortec Star Dynamic receiver does not seem to work. I followed the manual but no luck. I emailed Fortec tech services for an answer.
Also, I noticed that the default satellites on the Fortec receivers are not all the same from receiver to receiver, found that out when I bought a second receiver, kind of weird, but I guess it depends on what factory it came from.
Also, one thing I learned was to check the azimuth settings on the default satellites that are in your receiver, some may be off a few degrees.
Lots to learn but lots of fun. Thanks all for your help.

Hi Steve,
Yes, I have checked their site, have not found that specific receiver, but they do have some great mini-lessons on FTA satellite, anyone new to this should check it out.
Thanks for the reply.

Well, after calling Fortec Customer Service, who always try to help, I came away with the fact that this may be a bug in the software, or maybe with just my receiver.
You cannot delete satellites using the Dynamic Software. You have the option there, you go through all the steps, but it doesn't work. Only recourse is to do a factory reset, and it goes away.
Am I the only one with this problem?
I am having the same problem with my Fortec Star Dynamic. When I go to delete a satellite and press OK, nothing happens. I think I am experiencing the same problem that you are. When you reset your receiver, were you then able to delete a satellite? Also, if there is a software upgrade available for this receiver, where can I find this upgrade on the internet? Does the Sadouin Satellite site have it available?
Check Fortec Star Satellites for updates avaiabilty.

There is a little trick to deleting the satellites. Once you are in the Utilities menu you select Edit Satellites. You will then have a new screen to choose which satellite you wish to delete, you also have the option of deleting the channels or the whole satellite. (This will not affect the satellite you happen to be tuned in on). Select your satellite, then highlight delete satellite. A new window will pop up to confirm with yes or no. It is defaulted to no, so if you do not select yes it won't delete. Make sure to arrow left to yes then hit OK. It will delete. You can go back to antenna set up, highlight Satellite and click OK to get to the list to see it is now gone.![]()
Steve:
Thanks, I will try that.

Steve,
I tried the method you describe to delete satellites from the Fortec Dynamic receiver. Still not able to do so, as the "Yes/No" option does not appear on the screen. I tried it for two separate receivers.
Perhaps the software is different. This is the software version I have on both Fortec Dynamic receivers:
Software: Fortec Dynamic
S/W version: V8.01
H/W version: V1.00
Loader version: V 1.00
Last updated: June 25 2008.
I called Fortec a few months ago and they said this was the latest version of the software.
Thanks for the help
