Lyngsat

The most important thing is that the channel must be listed DVB and in Yellow colour.

Color Choice for viewing?

thanks for the help, being a newbie as well, yet, colors I see on lyngsat is either a green or pink? Is the green the same as your yellow? I have two pansats ordered, and want to know what channels are available, this posted response from you was a great help, cause there alot of channels out there and it is difficult to know what stuff will be actually available.

If the green is a go on viewable stuff, watch out, this is great?

Thanks

Colours on lyngsat

If you are on the lyngsat - america - frequency page, you'll see satellites names in little rectangles that are also coloured. Are you talking about this green? If so, Green is for KU band (also includes DBS),pink is for C-band and when you are on a satellite page (exemple IA5) pink means the channel is encrypted. I suppose that you ordered a 30 inch or larger dish/KU lnb with your pansat receiver. Therefore, you'll be able to receive signals from KU satellites, dor dbs you'll need Dishnet, DTV or BEV lnbs. C-band needs a dish of at least 6 feet.

Colors of choice

Thanks for the response, so quick, I did not order a dish with the 2 pansat 2300A recievers. I was told that I could use my existing twin head dual legacy 500 with external switch's, and my single head dual lnb for international stuff. I am not sure, yet have gotten alot of different info regarding initial set up.

Will this cause me some grief, and should I just go buy a 30 inch motorized set up to go from one satellite to another.

Thanks

M

Dish setup

With Dishnetwork dish, you'll only be able to receive DBS stuff (I.E. Nimiq and Echostar) A motorized dish is the way to go for FTA.

What channels?

Could you give me some examples of channel type selection? My main goal was to lock and load on 110-119, and enjoy tv, will this be ok, or not?

Mike

bobkat has a spectacular aura aboutbobkat has a spectacular aura about
There are only a few channels broadcast in the clear on DishNetwork and ExpressVu - and music channels. If you are hoping to get all the Dish and ExpressVu channels free; forget it...

kat

check out www.lyngsat.com and click on the "Packages (ca)" icon for Dish and ExpressVu -- any channel in yellow with a little "F" icon will be viewable -- anything encrypted will not be.
