New lnb install

Hi All
Great forum ! Think I'll stay!
I'm new to the satellite world and have much to learn.
I have just replaced one of my dual lnbs and can't get sat 119. 110 comes in fine.
I have dish 500 with a DP301 receiver. Software is P394 and switch is SW21. All connections are tight and clean.
Signal integrity is good and satellite reception is verified.....for 110 at least. Switch check shows only one satellite connected.
My question is....The replacement lnb is a Legacy...no Dish Logo on it. I was assured it is compatable ...is that right?
Thanks
Karina

Cool the solution

The solution to your problem is to call Dish network to request a service technician to visit you and fix the problem.
To the best of my knowledge you are not supposed to tamper with any part of their propietary equipment, this means antenna, cabling, rvcr, etc.

No, Legacy is not compatible. Someone misled you.

Not true, unless you are leasing the equipment it's all yours and so is maintenance/repair.

There are other ways to say things.

The "not true" statement implies that I am a liar and I do not lie, I am just trying to help.

You could say that Dish Network maintains leased equipment and end users maintain their own equipment.

Reading comprehension 101... my statement was "Not true, unless you are leasing the equipment it's all yours and so is maintenance/repair." And that is a fact. This was in response to what you posted which was "To the best of my knowledge you are not supposed to tamper with any part of their propietary equipment, this means antenna, cabling, rvcr, etc." Yours is an all encompassing statement not allowing room for those that own their own equipment.

I own my Dish and DTV equipment. When something breaks no one fixes it for free... it's all my own responsibility.

Dish Pro and Legacy LNBs

While the DP301 receiver IS compatible with EITHER Dish Pro or Legacy LNBs, because the (polarity) signaling frequencies are different between the two, I can't imagine a mixed system would work.

When the 301 first boots, it recognizes which type of LNB it is looking at.
