No Quality Signal

Hello I am new to FTA. I am having a problem locking onto any transponder. I have my motor elevation and disk bracket set per the maunal and used a sat finder to get dialed into a sat. I have all equipment installed. I have A fortec 90cm, QPH-031, DG-240 and an pansat 2700a connected via a 100ft RG6 cable. I have a 70% on the level bar but 0% on the Quality bar. I tried scanning a handful on the sats in the proximity of the dish. I not sure what I am doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advanced.

The Latitude 43 and longitude -72 Per the manual for the DG-240 motor states that for the 43 Site Latitude the following needs to be set.
Elevation Angle=47
Dish Bracket Angle=28.4
declination Angle 6.6

thank you so much for your help!!

Have you tried to peak your dish with your southermost satellite? 72W? Once that is done, everything else falls into place assuming your pole is plumb.

Most motors have both scales on them. One marked elevation and one marked latitude. Make sure if you are setting the motor at 47 it is on the elevation scale and not the latitude scale.

What would you make of the level being at 70% and the quality being at 0%. What should those numbers be at/around if it's setup right?

I believe my motor only has the elevation scale and my dish has the latitude. I have attached a link to the user manul.pdf for the motor if you are interested.

This might be a stupid question but I'll ask anyways. By setting my dish to the latitude 72 that would be true south correct? If not sorry. How would I determine that and are there any good links.

Thanks for your patiences!

Ok on page three of the manual you provided it indicates that one of the scales is latitude. Start by checking that you have the latitude scale set to your latitude. The 72 is longitude, that is the direction the dish should be pointing when the motor is at 0.

the DG240 has both latitude and elevation scale should say lat on one side.don't worry about the signal level it means nothing the quality level is what's important.

Thumbs up Dg 240

I have a dg 280 and in the left of the mount you have the latitude and in the right you have the elevation. If you put it in your latitude the right side will be in the elevation. Here you can find all the information that you need . here you could see where is your house and where are the satellites.
