Dish Installation Help

Have spent two weeks trying to install a Fortec 31" Dish onto Moteck SG-2100 motorized system with either ULN-1 or IVACOM nf .03 Db LNBFs. Have tested Coolsat HD8100 and Viewsat 9000HD receivers. I'm certain the dish was pointed towards true South to start. Dish elevation computed and set to 28.5 degrees. Used USALS to set the motor at 117.5 degrees W longitude and 33.9 degrees E latitude. Used small TV and receiver out of doors at dish site for setup. Connected LNB and receiver(s) to motor. A "static" 65% signal strength appeared in the satellite setup area. The quality signal remained at 0%. The signals remained at this level no matter which direction (EAST/West) I commanded the dish motor to move. There was no change in the 65% signal or 0% quality readings even when large or small adjustments to the elevation were made. I'm wondering, since there's a fully operational DN motorized system working here, that maybe the above mentioned components are not compatible with my receivers. Appreciate any feed back.

First of all, I think a 31 inch dish is a little small for a motorized dish. I would think a 36 inch dish would be better. If you're having a problem finding signal quality I would try finding the dish network satellites first because their signal is much stronger then the fta satellites. Try getting a signal on 119, 110, 91, and 82. Once you find these birds you should be able to find the fta sats.

The 31 Fortec dish is fine for FTA, it's what I have and what is included in Sadoun's FTA bundle.

The dish itself can have an elevation error as much as 5 degrees. My dish elevation is supposed to be 30 - 6 or 24 but, to get signal, I had to set my elevation at 29.

Make sure your motor elevation is set to your latitude and make sure you use the latitude scale on the motor plate.
