equipment help

I have a approximately 10ft dish installed in my yard with a Panasonic 4400 Videocipher II receiver. The dish is motorized and I have a ribbon cable that used to run to it. I don't know anything about the system requirements to get the fta or the paid programs for this dish. I am tired of paying $75/Month to get a bunch of channels I never watch to get the few I do. What equipment will I need to make the system work?

you will need a 4DTV receiver to get paid program as there's not very many analog channels any more also will need a FTA receiver slaved to it to get the FTA channels.

No. I would not slave it. Get DTV or Dishnetwork for your paid channel with different dish and keep the big dish for FTA only.

the problem with this is you will pay more for the subscription than you would with the 4DTV also you can pick just the channels you want with the 4DTV.

Rainman you are 100 percent right on, an Tha19 it even used to be cheeper before they started charging for the uplink fee about a year ago or so. but its still cheeper than DTV or DISH. an Tha19 if you check with your programmer from time to time they even have specials, last year got showtime, movie ch, flix, iidepent film, for little under $100 a year, after coupon from showtime was sent to me. they run promos like that all the time an different channels or movie channels that they offer.

An Tha19 the nice thing about C-band when its rainning hard an you are in side you can still watch TV, an not see searching for signal. So good luck to you Tha19, hope all helps you out.

Thanks for the help

I appreciate all for your advice.
I took the cover off the LNB and the dish has a single C-Band LNB mounted on a center post. Will one of the C,Ku Band LNB's sold on this site mt on the post instead of the three of four bracket connections shown?

the BSC-621 should work just fine on your 10 footer.
