Question Signal meter question

I have one of those very basic needle type signal meters.

1. Should I hook it up to my Linear or Cicular LNB Port.
Invacom QPH031 Quad

2. Can I run it thru my diseQc switch to my receiver?
I have the LNB hooked directly to the meter and a cable running to port 1 of my switch.

Trying to Hit AMC 87W or EchoStar 119W for my inital signal.

Thanks.

Those 2 sats are not even close. If you are working with a motorized system you need to be aiming for your true south sat.

Isn't my true south sat going to be AMC3 (87w)

my location is: 43.2/86.2

Trying to find any bird. With my sat meter hooked up, no switch, my signal is 85 and quality is 46.

I remove the meter hook everything back up thru the switch, signal is 14 and quality is 0.

Any ideas?????
