Why does DISH come in clear during storms but not my FTA?

Hi,

Curious why when we've had rain (and clouds) my FTA reception is poor to bad to none ... but my relatives across town with their DISH setup, get fairly consistant signal and clarity.

And I have the 36" dish; Fortec receiver; etc., etc.

I see that his DISH dish, is like all the others, not very large ... well compared to mine ,,,

How do they get steady clarity, and I cannot? During clear skies, my reception of G10r is great.

Thanks!

rrf

Most likely is because DISH channels/transponders beam out a much stronger signal than regular FTA channels.
