Did you try hit the "Reset Button" on the Motor?? It's that real Small Hole next to the Light. Use a Paper Clip or something that small and hit the Reset. See if that might fix it?

I'm a bit confused by the above, and this may be yet another difference between newer and older SG2100 motors..... but on MY SG2100, there is no east or west buttons. Ie there is one button that has 4 different east/west, bump/move functions depending upon how you hit the buttons. From another post this morning, it's obvious that there are some major changes in the physiical appearance of the SG2100. Does this mean that there are also changes in the buttons and operation as well????

Yes, the east/west button change in the new model has been mentioned elsewhere. The only other item that I'd heard about with the new model is that some find that the new unit does not move to the correct position when directed to move the the "due south" position. I had not followed that discussion too closely, but there were people experimenting with the possibility of repositioning the arm by dismantling the motor in order to get it to go to the 0 position correctly :/

At least with the old models, if you do the hard reset, it's supposed to take whatever position the motor is currently in as it's new zero, so you're supposed to first position it at zero then do the reset. I don't know if the newer version is the same or not.
I wish that they would change the model number if they were going to completely change this motor, because now advise for one motor may not apply if you have the wrong version. :-(
However the above thing about dismantling the motor was not really related to getting the motor to return to the correct ZERO, but instead I *think* it was about getting unsymmetrical travel of the motor shaft, ie to go further east than west, or visa/versa. I think that if you did the above alteration of the motor, you'd still have to set the zero of the motor with a reset in the normal way.
