Wait for picture 100%

I have a fortec Lifetime Ultra. Up until today I was viewing TV, now it just keeps saying waiting for picture and rolls up to 400% and starts over. Any can help with this one?

the ultra can do some strange things when you get a transponder overload. try deleteing some of your transponders and see what happens.

um last I checked the Fortec wouldn't do that if you had left the factory software in there

Obviously someone didnt read the rules

So I guess this means I can get no help. Not even sure how to eliminate excessive transponders. Anyone want to e-mail me some help?

If you are running illegal software you will need to contact the person that wrote the software and have them fix it. They probably can't which is why you are here. Something I have yet to understand. Why would anyone "trust" somebody that states point blank what I am selling / giving is illegal. That makes them a criminal. How trustworthy could they possibly be?

You may be able to send it to a certified Fortec repair facility to have it repaired but if it is the result of installing illegal software you of course leave yourself open to prosecution. Probably just best to throw the receiver away and buy a legit FTA system and start over but do things legally this time.

Factory software is available from Fortecstar website:
Download
Get the "Uploader" and "Firmware NTSC". You will need to connect serial cable from your computer to receiver, I think they provide instructions when you are downloading it. You need computer with serial port running Windows.
After you flash your receiver with factory software, you will get proper menus.
I got my Fortec Ultra off eBay, it also had something "homebrew" on it.
Now it's OK.
