Do FTA receivers work in Africa (Ivory Coast or Cote d'Ivoire)

I live in the uSA but I want to send my friend an FTA dish and receiver, will it work there? What type of receiver I need and what type of dish?

if he's got a clear site to the sats it should work fine.

I would use at least a 30" dish
any receiver should work.

Red face

One thing that I would look at is if the receivers power supply can be switched to change the voltage to what they use in your friends country.

Many of the countries over seas use a different voltage than we do here in the USA.

Power Supply

The power supply technology in most power converters, in most electronics, accept an input power range of 110-240 so as to allow the item to be universally used in either Europe's 220 system, or the 110 system used in the US & Latin America.

If you simply look at the back of the Fortec receiver, or any other electronic device, you can see the "input range", if the input range says 110-220 or a range larger than 110-220, then you are good to use it anywere. The only thing you will have to do is get the little attachment that goes on the plug so that the American Style flat prong plug can be changed to the Euro style two round pin plug.
