unfortunatley I don't think there are any but I think darkman can confirm this. This is the story of American FTA. They encrypt and charge almost every European channel... the government has always been anti-European and pro Hispanic, African, Asian, etc.

Channels encrypted has nothing to do with our government. FTA channels have to be funded from some sources. Most from their own government, not the US gov. Other channels present here strickly for making $. If we, the viewers, only seek for FTA, then who gonna bear the cost of uplink/downlink/turn around services to transmitt the signal from other part of the world to us?
Not mean to be hard, but just be realistic.

julia: dishnetwork has plenty if you got the cash $$

dtsexpert:

honestly, I believe politics and $$ has a part in this. I cant prove it, but within myself i believe it. Look at europe, channels that are FTA there are encrypted here like Euronews for example. Hell, BBC WORLD has a FTA DVB channel in every part of the world except north america. This is just outrageous.. The american government doesn't want us to know whats going on outside of the world from another source's perspective except from CNN, FOX, and all those other stations that lie, lie, lie

I saw black helicopter flying at my area this morning...:-)
If the gov had something to do with these channels, why wouldn't they ban these channels completely? They are still available for us to subscribe to them. Simply someone pay $ to bring them over here, and they need to charge certain fee to at least cover the cost, or even make $ for doing that.
Also, the channels you mention are from Europe, and they are FTA in Europe, that's pretty simple to understand. It's like Fox, ABC....FTA for us over here.
But when someone in Europe trying to bring the US channels overthere, do you still think they are free for folks in Europe to see?

DISH Network - RTVi, RTVi+, ($24.95/m) ... NTV (14.95/m), 1st (14.95/m)

or move to Ontario (where Rogers Cable is) :mozilla_tongue: - some of the above described russians are there too .. and WMNB, Inter + (from Ukraine) also...

Or .. some Cable company in USA that carries those too...
