Not sure, but the Telstar will be real tough...
People get sat at 30 degrees so the 3R sat at 43 should be possible. Looks like some good stations. I got 58, and 135, so I should be able to get 43... I'll try it next weekend.
I live in Easton PA and would like to receive FTA programming to get Italian channels. I keep reading different pros and cons on the internet and before I go and purchase the equipment, I want to be somewhat reassured that It will be worth the expense. Can somebody please confirm their reception on the east coast for Italian channels? From what I can tell I would like to receive Telstar 12 and Intelsat 3R. Any suggestions and input would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Ray

Thanks for the responses. What would you guys suggest for the dish size? I would like to get a 31" dish with a rotor which I hope would do well. I have a pretty good look to the east and south with no obstructions.
Thanks.
Ray
If you are in Easton PA, you should get at least a 36" dish. It will get better signal than a 31" and is only 20 dollars more. I wish I had listened to a friend before I got the 31".
Part of the reason is that you will put a lot of work into setting it all up... a day or so and you'd like it to be the best in can be...
Per Lyngsat it says you should have an 85cm dish for sat at 43, but the bigger the better.
I am with vitruvius go with the 90cm dish the extra signal is well worth the price.![]()
Okay, I'm sold on the 36" dish. I hope wind won't be too much of a problem since I will have to mount the dish on my second story roof. Any recommendations on an LBNF? I would like to eventually connect two receivers some day if this all works out, so I guess a dual LNBF is needed. But what about polarity? Should I go with a linear?
I just ordered a Fortec Star Mercury II receiver which should arrive soon.
Thanks for the insight.

Ray as others have suggested a 36" dish/90cm dish is the best value dish size and offers good performance.
I have several different LNB's from different manufacturers , I like the Invacom SNH-031 and Sadoun Brand KUL 2 .
I live in a older Chicago neighborhood and have benefitted from a good LOS , I can see the Clarke Belt from 30.0 west to 129.0 west, on the west side a tree stops me from getting anything further west and on the East 30.0 w. is the furthest my motor will go , one day I might try for Telstar 12 which is a liitle iffy due to one roof top and tree in the distance.
I hope your rooftop is not very pitched , I like to use a small TV next to my dish whenever I install or adjust the dish (makes it much easier), I chose my porch roof because of LOS it's not as high as my house roof and accesible by bedroom window .

the snh-o31 lnbf by Invacom is my choice on lnbf it's been a good quality lnbf for me.![]()
