If you had a Dish NetworkHDTV receiver or DirectTV HDTV, this new style of cable and multi-pin socket is how you would hook them up. ...
When a tv says HDTV ready, does that mean that you don't have to have a separate box to receive digital channels in HDTV or Standard digital, meaning that the tuner is already built in? That's what I don't understand when it says HDTV ready in that is it like cableready vs.one that is not cableready, which you use to have a separate box hooked to it to receive cable channels 14 and up?
Quite the opposite. When it says HDTV "Ready" that means that it does not have a built-in tuner and you will still need a Set Top Box to receive ATSC signal.
However, HDTV "Ready" TV usually have an analog tiner built-in.
