Distance between 2 dishes?
Hello, I have a question: is the distance between two Dish Network dishes somewhat important? I see, installers always put them very close together, is it by the puropse, or just for their convenience?
I already put one dish, aimed at 148°, but I cannot mount another one for their 119°/110°, close nearby, because neighbor's house blocks the view.
I want to put it on the roof about 25 feet apart from the first one.
Is it OK?
For Dish programming,
I have 2 301 receivers,
DP21 switch + 2 Dish500's with DishPro LNBs. Plenty of RG6 cable.
Thanks in advance!

Yeah, it will be fine. You can mount the dishes side by side as long as one doesn't block the other's line of sight.

Thanks for your responses, Pictureon and Bobcat!
I installed them far apart, I will attach a picture, when I make one.
I thought, close distance maybe, has to do something with grounding.
But I ground them on a run after DP21 switch.

I like them close together, as the 21 switch is outside.
Try a gound mount, the offset angle can clear a 1 story from a 10 to 12 feet distance from the base of the structure.

OK, here is it:
I have a long cable run from dish behind a chimney (click to see a big image)to the one on the front, switch is right below this second one, under eave, from where cable goes some more to the left, and then enters the house at the garage.

Just to conclude this thread, I want to tell, that after my programming was restored, I've been surprised that they moved all my locals to the main dish!
So, the only channels I receive from 148° sat, are these:
T he Pentagon Channel
Classic Arts Showcase
Good Samaritan Network
Holistic Television Network
Panhandle Area Ed. Consortium
From which I watch only ARTS.
Is not it ridiculous?
Come on, Charlie, can't you move at least entire AT60 to 110/119?

Dish had to comply by June to have all locals from a prticualr city be accessible with one dish. They caught some major heat for the "split" locals.
I wish the PI channels were on the main too but not enough room

I asked the same question on dbstalk forum, and got a response:
These 5 PI channels should be on 61.5° and 148° sats in order for Dish to comply with FCC rule. Because 121° and 129° are not DBS sats, they are not subject to this rule.
But I don't receive any other programming from E*1/2 than these 5 PI channels, and with FCC or not, it does not look less absurd .
Here's is an EKB page about PI ch-s:
