Well, problem solved. As stated before, Dish Tech support INSISTED what I was trying to do was impossible becausethe 721 was only DP and not DPP compatible. Of course I have all kinds of documentation to prove other wise.(L177, 9-16-05; DPP Twin support) The dish tech said that my set-up was all wrong and that is why they no longer allow customer installs. He said I should have an
installer inspect my system.
I contacted an installer and explained what I had and what the Dish Tech told me. He said Dish always says contact them. This is because the 721 is old Technology and the Dish Techs just are not up to speed. He suggested that I may have been sent a bad replacement.
I questioned him about software up-grades and using a DP splitter to down load any up-grades. He said that was not necessary BUT mentioned reversing the DPP Separator; 1-2 and 2-1.
