Dish Network is preparing to celebrate EchoStar’s 25-year anniversary with a new branding campaign and exciting new promotions. This Facts Blast includes information about the campaign and promotions, customer education tools, an update on the Tech Portal, enhancements to retailer tools and other updates. Keep reading so you don’t miss any of
the details.
BETTER TV FOR ALL.
Beginning August 16, 2005, we will celebrate EchoStar’s 25-year anniversary with the launch of a new brand and a new campaign – “Better TV for all.” We believe in this rallying cry because:
• Better TV – DISH Network has better picture quality, better customer service and a better price.
• For All – We’ve always provided all consumers with Better TV for the lowest possible price.
The DISH Network logo has evolved slightly and should be accompanied by the tagline, “Better TV for all.” whenever possible. In addition to the logo, there are other pieces like the Transmitter and Silhouette that you’ll see regularly in DISH Network new promotional materials.
CURRENT NEW CUSTOMER PROMOTIONS
The following promotions will expire on August 15, 2005:
• DISH Madness - $12 discount per month for 3 months on qualified programming
• HBO/Showtime Free for 3 months
• DHA 12 and DHA 24
For the above promotions, subscriber accounts must be built in R*Connect by August 15, 2005, and activated no later than the earlier of 30 days after the date the corresponding work order was created or September 14, 2005.
We have extended the Free-For-All and Big DISH Exchange promotions unchanged through January 31, 2006.
Following is a recap of the DHA promotions and enhancements.
Q3 NEW CUSTOMER PROMOTIONS EFFECTIVE AUGUST 16, 2005
Digital Home Advantage: Digital Home Advantage (“DHA”) continues to be our primary promotion. Effective August 16, 2005 through January 31, 2006, we will continue to offer the DHA promotion but with the following
enhancements:
• Term Agreement Options: The twelve and twenty-four month term agreement options will no longer be available after August 15, 2005 and will be replaced with a single term agreement option for a period of eighteen months.
Participating customers who agree to this eighteen month term agreement option will receive the DISH Home Protection Plan for eighteen months at no additional cost.
• Activation Fee: All DHA subscribers will be required to pay an upfront, non-refundable $49.99 activation fee. Subscribers who agree to an 18 month term agreement option will receive a $49.99 credit applied to their first billing statement, effectively making their activation free. This credit will not be applied to the bill of any subscriber who declines a term agreement option.
• Cancellation Fee for DHA 18: Customers who agree to an eighteen month term agreement option will be subject to a prorated $240 cancellation fee (i.e., $13.33 for each remaining month during their eighteen month period).
25 Year Anniversary Promotion: To celebrate Dish Network 25 Year anniversary, effective August 16, 2005 DN are adding the following customer offers to make it easier to sell and help our retailers grow their business.
• 25 Movie Channels Free for the first 3 months: Customers who participate in the DHA, DHA 18 or Alaska, Puerto Rico/Virgin Islands promotions will receive HBO, Showtime and Cinemax at no additional cost for their first 3 months of service. That’s up to 25 free premium movie channels depending on where such customers reside (for example, for customers who reside in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands, the number of channels will differ).
o HBO: 9 channels including HBO in
HD
o Cinemax: 5 channels
o Showtime: 11 channels including Showtime in HD
• 1 Month Free: New subscribers who participate in the DHA, DHA 18 or Alaska-Puerto Rico-U.S. Virgin Islands promotion will receive their selected qualifying programming package free for their first month of service. (A minimum qualifying programming package of AT60, DISH Latino or Great Wall TV Package is required).
• Free DVR Upgrade: It’s now easier for customers to get the new DISH Player-DVR 625 under the DHA promotion. The non-refundable $19.99 lease upgrade fee for the 625 dual-tuner receiver will no longer be in
effect after August 15, 2005.
• HD Pak Free for 6 Months Promotion: The HD Pak Free for 6 Months promotion has been extended through January 31, 2006 for all new qualifying subscribers.
