When you look at the what the channels are, you find about 20 shopping channels. They should be paying me to watch that!!!

YEP , and about 35 MUSIC channels.......and at least 5 Spanish speaking ones ( I only speak English).
It wasn't real bad the way it was before.........I suppose they think they'll make more money this way.

A while ago, they proposed a law to give consumers a la carte (pick your own channels that you want to pay for). However the companies didn't want to go along because some of their lower viewed channels would have to be axed. Well, I love to stick it to them. I get my TV free from my dish and OTA antenna.

Back in 2001 I bought someone's old 10' BUD and VC+ and subscribed to ala carte C-band. It was awesome since I only got the channels I wanted and my monthly bill was like $8. I only watch 5 channels other than the networks, so paying for something I never watch is silly. What I hate is how the providers package channels so you have to upgrade to get that 1 additional channel you want.

I'm envious of the folks in the UK. They can go and purchase a Freesat box for a one-time price and get 150 channels including HD for "free". (I think they still have a per-TV tax that funds programming). Europe seems to be a good place for FTA.
