Question Ordering new Dish system

My parents used to have Dish, but they switched to cable; now, they want to go back to Dish. They do not have HDTV yet, but maybe within 6 months. They do have 2 standard TVs, and they want DVR capabilities. Also, they have decided on the America's 250 programming. I have been online with DishBuilder but, I have run into a problem.

My question is: what is the best (least expensive) way to go here?

1. They could stick with SD, 2 tuner DVR, then upgrade to HD DVR later when they get the (1) HDTV.

2. They could go ahead and get the HD 2 tuner DVR and still use the SD TVs with it. If this is feasible, do they have to order the DishHD programming now, or could they upgrade when they get the HDTV?

3. I know the simplest case would be for them to get the HDTV now, but they are not ready yet.

Also, which receiver will they be getting in either case?

I hope this makes sense (I am a newbie on this)! Thanks for your help.

Thanks, rainman!

Does anyone know if I can get this receiver without ordering the DishHD programming at this time?

Yes you can get HD receiver without the HD package. You'll pay $6/month enabling fee for each receiver.
HD package is free for 6 month with new account. It's best to get the HD eqiupment now. Any upgrade will cost more in the future.

Since you were with dishnetwork before, you may not get the new customer promotions. They could treat you as a former custome with less benefits.
