WOW. What a site!

i think i found the right place here. i am totally ignorant of any of this stuff. i just know i called dishnetwork and told them what i wanted and they came out and hooked it up.
anyway, we are in the process of building a new house and will be running all my wiring soon and i had to start looking for answers. here's my problem. we are living in temporary living arrangements with a dish with 2 receivers servicing 4 TVs. there will be 6 TVs in the new house and they told me that one dish couldn't service all 6. now i am really confused after seeing the 34 and 44 switches. it looks to me like they will work fine. can i just buy one and hook it up or am i supposed to go through them? also what is the difference between dish pro and dish pro plus? i wondered how they only ran one cable to my box, now i know (separators). obviously i am way way way confused. also, can someone please tell me why i would want multiple satellite locations? if i hook up an additional location, won't i have to sign up with DN in order to watch it? i am prefectly fine with the channels i have now, i just want to get an additional receiver and hook all 3 receivers (dual receivers - 6 TVs) into the same dish is this possible? can i just buy a receiver or do i have to go through them? do i need to run coax between the 2 TVs that will be serviced together?
i am sorry for all the questions, but this is a while new world for me.
Thanks in advance,
Brad

Many DISH "fanatics", that maybe can faster answer your questions, hang out in those 2 forums .. in those sections there:

General Dish Network™ Discussion - DBSTalk.Com

and

The Dish Network Forum - SatelliteGuys.US

So maybe check 'em out as well... - maybe you get your answer somewhat faster that way

DPP or Dish Pro plus allows for frequency separation for dual tuner receivers. Using a separator you can separate high and low frequency and split them between 2 tuners. This way you can have one line coming from the lnb and split into 2 to serve 2 tuners (2 rooms). Now if you have dish 500 with DPP you can have up to 4 rooms. To be able to add 2 more rooms you will need either a dish 1000.2 or a dpp 44. dish 1000.2 hase 3 lnb 110,119 and 129 for HD channels and it has 3 output for support of 6 rooms. the dpp 44 has 4 output for support of 8 rooms. To add addtional receivers you'll have to purchase them and install them. Dishnetwork provide up to 4-room system for free. Once you buy the receiver you'll have to call them to activate it.
If you're looking to get HD in the future, you might want to call dish and request Dish N' it up program. They would come and exchange your receivers and install dish 1000.2 for you.

You can also watch more than one room by splitting the signal of TV #2 of any receiver. You would be watching same channel though.

1000.2

I believe the DPP44 switch can only accomodate 2 dual tuners with single cables and seperator. If you intend on doing 6 or 8 rooms then double check that. You can cascade the DPP44 if necessary.
