Pole size recommendation

I'm looking at moving to dish network in the near future, and would like to put the dish on a pole. I'd like to have the pole setup and ready when dishnetworks contractor shows up. Any recommendations on pole sizes to make this a simple job?

Dish usually sets the pole when they install the dish. I have one laying out back haven't checked the diameter of it yet will check tomorrow and let you know.

Is a eight foot pole, 36" in the hole and 5 foot from the ground.

I used a 2" O.D galvanized steel fence post for my fortec 39" dish. It is 6 feet long and has held up well so far.
