Directv multisat dish to FTA box

Hey guys.

I moved to a new place that already has a Directv multi satellite dish with 3 lnbs. It has 4 outputs. It also claims it has a built in multiswitch which might get in my way.

I was wondering how I can harness the signals of 110 and 119 to pick up anything FTA on dish network from my FTA box.

Anyone have an idea? It doesn't seem to work with a single direct cable from any of the outputs.

thanks.

That switch in that dish will automatically go to 101 by default. Try the DiSEqC settings.

hmm i don't think that is a diseqc compatible switch?

I don't won't be able to do some more tests for a few days because i have no access to it... thats why i want to try to get some answers before i take a trip back there and try again.

I was hoping somebody has done this before with a dtv multisat dish.

disec settings don't make it work... tried 22khz still didn't work.

I was using standard 11250 lnb settings. I wonder if i need different lnb settings?

If the dish defaults to 101 couldn't it simply be rotated to 119? Just wondering because I have the same dish laying on my back deck and was considering putting it up for the music channels on 119.

TIA
Steve

Or if there is anyone in central to sw Indiana that has a single lnb Direct TV dish that would like a triple I would swap.

Is 22khz the only tone your reciver is compatiable with?
If your reciver is compatiable with the other tones give those a try.

worst comes to worst you can get a new multi-switch that is compatable with your reciver and wire it up instead of the one that came from DirectTV (I don't see how it could be pointing at dishnetwork sats. if it was installed to recive DirectTV though, you might need to reposition it to point at the correct birds)

It's laying on the back deck I was just thinking about putting it up. The switch is built in the LNB head unit as I understand it.

The DirectTV dishes that I have seen have the multiswitch wired up right behind the dish.
