I have an old 18" dish with a dual lnb, connected to a multi switch. (Running three TV 's no HD) In the Spring My signal strength was 90-95 depending on the transponder, now that the trees have leaves my signal strength went down to 55-60. I've done a sight survey on my property and I can not mount the dish where it would not be effected by trees, the trees that I am having problems with is actually part of the state park located 200 to 300 feet away, so I know that its just the very tops of the trees that are effecting the signal. Any suggestions on what I can do? I was thinking of getting a slim line dish, and eliminating the multi switch to see if I can get a little better signal, and or raise the dish up 2-3 feet?
Thanks
Dennis
Trees Grow....
Yes, the best thing to do is get the line of sight totally clear of trees. You can mount the dish on a taller pole.. the taller the better.
The other possiblity could be to get a bigger dish... a 36" dish, to get more signal strength... but the best method is to obtain your line of sight on the site.
